Hi,

It looks like I've fallen foul of the dreaded Nissan air-con issue. The system just cannot keep the car cool on these warmer, sunnier days. On full pelt, only the centre passenger vent puts out cold air. The the others just seem to be blowing air at ambient temperature. It was fine last summer and I've only noticed this from the start of the month.

Honestly, this feckin' car... :headbang:

Rik.

That's bad news Rik.
Odd that it can manage cold air in one vent tho; I'm not familiar with the T32 issue (YET!) but got the impression all the vents were warm.
Got a bit concerned about mine today after setting off as it was pretty hot and with it on max speed on 'Lo' it still didn't seem to chucking any cold out, but I realised all the outlets (lights) were set on. So I turned off the windscreen one and it came back to life - I think that one takes most of the flow. Such a pain having to keep switching vents on and off to suit the ambient temp, but that's the only way to stop the system doing whatever the hell it wants to - which is nearly always too hot for me.

Does it just need a re gas? Although it sounds strange that only one is working :headbang:

So, after a trip to the dealers they couldn't find a leak in the system and, as expected, suggested a re-gas. I had been prepared for this so told them to go ahead at a cost of £120 - ouch. :bigcry: I have read of other owners being stung for £200 so that helped ease the pain - a bit. :o

Stuck in rush hour traffic, in 25 degrees, it didn't seem so bad while bathed in gloriously cold air.

Rik.

I did and, as expected, they came back with this reply 'because there's no manufacturing defect found we can't cover it under warranty.'

As there's no point in kicking off at the Service Assistant that left me with two options. Either take it on the chin or escalate to Nissan GB. Based on previous experience and the hundreds of posts I'd read about this issue I decided on the former. I would've ended up having to pay anyway and just getting myself wound up for no benefit. Life's too short for that aggravation.

Similar issue, X Trail Tekna little over 2 years old and 28,000 miles. Put the air con on earlier this week and makes no difference to the air temperature if it's on or not. Tried different permutations of buttons but makes no difference.
Noticeable whistle though when the air con is first turned on.
Am loathed to book it end and get it sorted and charged for the privilege.
Quite disenchanted since I also have the 'warped' brake disc issue but was told not covered by warranty at 24,000 miles and less than 2 years old.
