Well thanks to Covid-19 I haven't used the car anything like I would normally do so I haven't really done anything about the DPF, or had any issues with it. In fact we've hardly been out much at all since this time last year. I would normally do around 9,000 miles a year, but in the past year, thank...

I took my car in to my local garage with air-con problems and they diagnosed a major leak in the compressor. I went down in their pit and they showed it to me. They fitted a new compressor for me and it has been fine since. They charged me a total of £588. I don't use main dealers if I can help it, ...

Another thing is to upgrade your stereo.

That one is selling on Amazon at £25.31, whereas the one I bought was around £12, also from Amazon. It does all I want, and the music sounds great.

This year we had a fair bit of snow here in mid-Suffolk. Even got to try out my winter tyres, for essential journeys and to get my COVID vaccination (2 trips as on the first they closed the centre and sent me a text just before I got there). We also had a fair amount of snow back in Feb 2018...

Beginning of Feb we had a lot - in mid-Norfolk it was patchy but at least 12" (30cm) in our garden. My son had some 6 foot snow drifts in north Norfolk. Couple of years back with Beast from the East our road was blocked for 4 days!! Huge snow drifts along the roads and in region of 18" sn...

Nothing like that here today, fortunately. About 8 degrees, cloudy, and raining. We haven't had snow like that in this part of Britain for quite a few years. We did get a light dusting of snow a few weeks back, but nothing much really. Not too late though, as in Britain we know to expect anything. I...

A basic fault code reader can be bought for under £20. I have one. Before you even think of putting the light out however, you should find out what it is trying to tell you. If it's on there is something wrong with your car. It may be something simple or it could be the start of a major problem, get...

We used to call them singer (as in sewing machines). Was really an odd sensation of a constant noise but speed increase....................... I don't know whether you ever travel by train, but the more recent diesel units sound very similar and quite unlike the old ones used to. When you open up t...

Interesting little read https://www.volvoclub.org.uk/prof_cvt.shtml Yes an interesting read indeed, I had forgotten that Volvo took over Daf. I can remember the strange noise those Dafs made. The engine note rose before the car moved off, then stayed constant as the car picked up speed. Strangely e...
