Hi,

This is my first time on the site and it looks great - lots of useful info, so hopefully someone can help. I have recently replaced my old subaru forester with an 09 Tekna. It is great but the 18 inch wheels are shod with very road biased toyos. I had Goodyear Wrangler AT/R tyres on my forester and the first set covered 90,000 miles in three years with no problems and were great in the mud and snow. I was thinking about fitting smaller wheels with something similar to the goodyears for the winter. Has anyone got any experience of fitting smaller wheels to the later x-trails and if so what wheels and tyres would anyone go for? I think I'm right in saying that the 16 inch wheels from earlier models won't fit?

Any suggestions would be great.

My 59 reg. Sport dCi has 17" wheels.

I use "all Season" tyres as they are winter certified and good for the summer as well.

I use Michelin Synchrone 4x4 a/t's on mine and have found them cracking!

Ps. Mine is an earlier model with the 16's fitted!

Ive got a 2003 XTrail with stock 5 spoke 16's

Im running Pirelli Scorpions all round there a brilliant tyre, have been great in the summer and the snow great all rounder
