Hi there, I have a 2005 2.2DCi X-trial. It's only done 40k miles. While on holiday last week, it began to idle really rough.
There was also alot more engine noise. I took it into a diesel electric specialist today. He informed me that two of the injectors are buggard. Has anyone had a similar problem at such low milage? They want to charge US$850 per injector.
Does anyone know if you can refurbish Denso injectors?

Don't know about XY injectors specifically but when the 10hp Nanni 2 cylinder diesel in my boat gave trouble a few years ago, after checking all the usual things(fuel filter, water trap) took the injectors to a Diesel Specialist(vehicles&boats)who refurbed and tested them.Think they only charged about £30.Problem solved  Think I'd check the filter for water first, then change the filter if not done recently, then if fitted the EGR valve.Haven't had a problem with the EGR valve on mine but there's some info on it elsewhere on this site.My first filter problem occured at about 26k,should have been changed at 2nd service but Main Dealer didn't do it :frown: Second time was at about 40k,blamed on supermarket fuel  Didn't have it changed at 4th service but now carry a spare. In UK about £20 from main dealer(unfitted)
Hope this helps,Good luck and Happy New Year.

Hi,

My 2006 2.2DCi became very noisey at idle especially when cold at 49,000 miles took it back to Nissan as it was still under Warranty they tried to fob me off saying that it was normal fortunately I have alot of diesel engine experience through my work so didn't except them fobbing me off eventually they replaced the injectors and the diesel knock has reduced back to 'normal'.
