Hi Ibster,

I am also considering a Kenwood unit and went into a local dedicated audio specialist, Huets, a few weeks ago. I look at the 5220, the one with the manual rotary volume and the 8220 which has full touch screen and only a couple of buttons. The guy behind the desk said that Kenwood are due to release a new set of units to replace these models in the first quarter of this year, so it may be worth seeing if any deals are around on shifting the older stock.

The other unit I looked at was the Alpine iva-505 which has a separate satnav unit that plugs in or can be used independently.

You have already got a Nissan satnav havent you, I asked the guy if I can use the existing gps module and the trafficmaster unit on the kenwood and he said that a couple of adapters would be needed but should be fine.

I got quoted around a grand for the whole lot fitted, but wanted to pick his brains about the connectors as I am quite happy doing it as a DIY.

If I see any deals I will post them here. Maybe you could mention to scottie about having a section we could post deals on similar to the ebay one but for other companies?

hi all,

Looking for some info if you can.

I want a doublle din satnav stereo for my 53 plate. I have looked about and the cheepest i can find for a decent one is the Kenwood DNX-5220BT which has everything i need. ( i'm a sucker for garmin satnav ) Prob is that it's over £600 quid.

Does anyone know of anywhere who sell cheaper Satnav Stereos.
