Here's the problem. Whilst driving the electric sunroof opened by itself and then would not close. Fortunately was able to wind it back with Hex key but awkward to say the least! Motor appears to work as tried to open once closed and it slid back. However, tried to close on the switch but would not operate so back to the trustee Hex Key once more. The local Nissan agent has said that it needs a new motor at £500 :lol: but I am dubious that this is the cause as the motor is operating. I suspect a faulty relay or possibly even the switch unit itself. This is my sister in laws car and she told me that a couple of weeks ago she forgot to close the roof and that same evening there was torrential rain . Most likely water damage but no obvious signs. So, before I start pulling it apart has anyone had a similar problem and if so how was it fixed. Also the location of the motor would help as looking at the fuse box there is no dedicated fuse protecting the sunroof circuit. I just want to isolate power from the roof at present and look later for a fix when needed for the summer.

The fuse is No5 10Amp and it also controls your windows too, have a look at the diagrams that I've done for you and get some WD40 and give everything that was exposed to the rain a good blast of it.

I am interested if you managed to fix the fault as I have the same issue. Intermittently the sunroof opens by itself. The renault dealer run diagnostics and said it must be a faulty Motor controller but at £600 to replace, I am reluctant to change it on an educated guess. Did you manage to fix your problem?

By the way guys, I'm just away to chuck a perfectly good sunroof frame and mechanism (minus motor and glass) in my scrap metal pile as I've not been able to sell it.

Hi guys stripped the motor out as per Milton's link and sure enough it was misaligned all back in and working well ALMOST, when I close the roof (slide) it doesn't do the final lift at the back.i have tried the standard reset procedure but no joy any suggestions?
