hi, just joined and wondered if anyone can help! got a 03 x-trail 2.2 driving along last week, changed gear and the car just redlined, now eveytime i start her up she just revs right round to 5-6000 rpm and i have to turn her straight off! any info will be greatly appreciated.

Had exactly the same problem on a Cherokee, turned out to be the EGR valve. Garage removed it gave it a clean, no more problems.
