I have had this wierd noise develop - there is an intermittent whirring noise coming from the engine compartment, it lasts up to a couple of seconds at a time with variable delays, and seems to start when the engine starts to warm up - the temperature guage starting to move. It continues during decelerations, specially when coming to a stop, although maybe it's just easier to hear. It also happens during idling. Doesn't seem to affect performance.; sounds like the resonant vibration from a home air conditioning unit when it kicks in and the casing starts to vibrate - is the only way I can describe it. Any ideas?
