My 55 plate DCI sport failed the MOT yesterday.
A binding o/s calliper and an advisory on the same side brake pads. Pain in the ****. Nissan wanted £70 for a front set of pads.

I have ordered some EBC Greenstuff pads for £50, but will take a few days to arrive. Hopefully the new pads will sort out the binding after giving the calliper a good clean.
So Im carless for the next few days, which really isnt helpful, as I cant walk at the moment very easilly due to an ongoing back problem.

Hi Tradford,

I have just had to replace both front calipers at a price of £125 each (exchange)
and new pads. Both calipers had seized and am suprised the car stopped... lol

The pistons were seized solid in the caliper (1 piston n/s, both pistons o/s) am not
sure whether there is a seal kit available to overhaul the caliper should yours be stuck?

I stripped the brakes down yesterday, covered the pistons with copper grease and then put new brake pads in. Took it back to the MOT place and all was fine. I'll keep an eye on it in future though.
