hi guys,new member here,dont have an xtrail just yet but hope to put that right as soon as i can.not sure which model to go for, hope you can steer me in the right direction.will use it mainly for travel to and from work[20 mile round trip]any idea what fuel economy i can expect with this?seen a columbia on a 06 plate,2 owners,36000,history,£12000 is this a good price?.is there a big difference in performence with different models etc?

to see the differences between the models, and find the one you like. A 2.2 dCi from 04 to 06 should give you about 38 mpg. Don't be afraid to go for a high mileage diesel, they are very reliable in spite of what you might hear. Just make sure it has all the dealer stamps and oil changes at the correct (12,000 mile) intervals and all will be well. Parkers will give you an idea of prices. Don't pay more than 9k for a good condition 06 Columbia with 70k miles, or if you're lucky, even an Aventura for that matter. You'll sell it again easily for 5k with 120k miles. That's cheap and reliable motoring. And you'll do it in comfort and it will put a smile on your face. Make sure the climate control and especially the fan works well at all speeds, and have a look under the engine for oil leaks - the sumps can slowly rot. Brake pads, discs and suspension items should also be in good condition too at this price.

hi mate and welcome, im in same boat as you....not a owner yet but going tomorrow to view a 2006 adventura with 57k miles for £10k. gonna look at dropping him down to a more reasonable price.....hopefully. good luck with your search. :biggrin:

We have a 2005 SVE 2.2 dci and this averages 39 mpg with mixed town & country driving. Had it 10 months now, paid £8k for it privately with 32k on the clock which I thought was a good deal.
