Unfortunately not by females.
The problem seems to be my headlights, it's fitted with xenon headlights and not only do we get flashed from oncoming vehicles - vehicles in front put their fog lights on when I'm behind! I took it into a dealership and they checked them and said they were aiming slightly high and have been corrected, but it's still happening on a regular basis. They are adjusted automatically so there is not much we can do about it. Does any one have the same problem?

I used to get it all the time in my old car, I set them pointing as low as possible, but it still happened. I drove much at night with the Xtrail, so never had it happen yet.
Nothing you can do, just ignore it.

Surely it cant be just something you can try and ignore? It's could lead to all sorts of problems with oncoming cars!

nope its just 4x4 lights being a little higher and with xenon's being that much brighter then others flash...happens all the time - I just wave back and smile.....I also wave at every XT i see so feel free to wave back.... :roll:
