Hi Ibster.
No, not at all, you don't even know its there, they really are very simple systems. Its basically two sections, back end and front end and the only thing linking them is a 6mm plastic covered copper pipe (oh,and a wire) ! With the tank being in the spare wheel well, i do have to leave the spare at home and carry a can of tyre repair, which would be good enough to get to a garage if needed.
Pretty much tucked out of the way.

Its a fair investment, £1200-£2000 fitted. £600 upwards for DIY. Mr Brown gives you less than about £20 a year rebate on your tax, which you would need to claim back. Not really worth it. (of course he's much kinder if you live in 'the smoke' by waiving the congestion charge for you !) Its the fuel costs that really make a difference though, its under 40p a litre at the moment with similar mpg return on a good conversion.
You can get diesel conversions done too i believe, but i don't know too much about them.
