I've started to take my X-Trail for a little light Green laning in my area  and naturally I've managed to get a few branch scratches down the sides  . Apart from NOT going down these tight lanes, does anyone have any suggestions when trying to limit the damage to the somewhat fragile paint work?

I have three for you:
1- Go down the lane with the hedge cutters first.

2- Get some-one else to go down the lane with the hedge cutters first.

3- Cover the entire car with a large dust sheet, cut out a hole for the driver, DDUUUHHH!!! :boxing: and away you go.

BTW, I cant think of any paint wax etc that will prevent branches scratching, sorry...

i know the hedge cutters sounds like a joke but i was a memeber of my local landy club on our laning trips thats exactly what we did....also keeps friendly with other groups who use the lanes.

To keep branches etc off screen line you can fit safari wires that come from front of wing upto roof line above screen but that only keeps them off the screen - also not legal on road.

Sadly only way to protect paintwork is to not scratch it !!
