Hi, We bought a Xtrail columbia 2.3 sport on a 07 number plate last September. On startup the engine seems very rattley and does not quiet down for at least 2 miles, we have had it back to our Nissan supplier but they say theres nothing wrong and quite normal. Our last Xtrail on a 52 plate was not as noisy as this. Could anybody advise if this noise is quite normal., Thanx

Check engine oil is the right grade.

hi have 2007 aventura, dealer has said noise is normal and its how the diesel is injected in that causes the noise as it is such a high pressure, it goes when warm, will be changing oil soon to see if this helps as i have noted this from other threads. :thumbs:

Is there something wrong with mine? It has been as quiet as a petrol engine since new!!! :thumbs:
