I have a 2003 2.2 diesel. It has done 100.000 trouble free miles until about 3 months ago when it started to hold back and surge on a medium throttle. I took it to a dealer and they put there computer into it but found not fault. I changed the fuel filter and that made a big improvement but only for about 3 tanks of fuel. It starts and idles fine. Can anybody help ?

Just wondering if you are using "super market" fuel.

i find this makes a big difference in most cars i've drivern - cant say that about my xtrail - only got it today.

I find shell fuel to be brilliant

I use Shell too (for the Air Miles actually) and have had no problems - when it comes to fuel it seems that Shell and BP get recommended the most.
