Hi guys,

while doing the ole handbrake adjustment I noticed that all four corners of my suspension had old split shock boots (the concertina rubbers that protect the plunging part of the suspension damper)
I rang Nissan main stealer for the stupid price which was £52.55 each for front and £53.36 each for the rear!!! :lol: :bigcry:
So i started to look for universal boots and just maybe couloured ones. Loads in America or Australia but not so many results in UK...

anybody any idea...
A - what size\measurements they are?
B - a UK source?

once the colour is chosen the callipers will be painted the same.

Exhaust - has anybody just removed the big ugly back box and replaced with a one side normal back-box from another car?
all five bolts sheared on me removing that silly lower trim that's supposed to hide it and I don't really want it back on.
so I wondered if I could get a back-box that's shaped like the Vectra's or something from a scrappies but don't know which car may fit... any ideas?

Is it the one kit for both front and rear ?
My covers are splitting also and I cannot find these anywhere in Australia so I might order some from them.
Only £17 shipping cost which seems pretty reasonable.

Hi Kev, the kit comes with two bump stops and two dust boot covers, so you'll need two kits if your doing front and rear. These kits are really good quality too you won't be disappointed Kev. Powerflex have two distributors is Australia maybe you can ask them if they can get them for you, but if you do the code they'll need is BS009K and not the one on Larkspeeds site that code relates to their stock code.

Hi Shedlugger. Am trying to get something sorted out myself for the exhaust back box. I found this photo (sorry if it's copyright but a good example) which shows what can be done - problem is I haven't got the details about it. Hopefully Revheadkev will chip in and tell us all about it - he's done most things to his but I know he has twin pipes on his. If I can't find out anything I'm taking this photo to my mechanic and ask him for "one of these please" :biggrin:

Copyright ? Hahahaha I reckon the member of our forum Dave4x4 who installed this system would be chuffed to learn that it has made it all the way over to the UK.

It is a Magnaflow Stainless Steel muffler as mentioned in his initial post here and the pic is one of a series of pics posted later on page 8 of the same thread here.

Hi Kev. You're the kiddie all right - you seem to know everyone! Thought you'd be able to shed some light on the photo - looks good doesn't it - pretty as box of fluffy ducks! I've seen Dave4x4 photo of his XTrail under the bridge - if you're speaking to him can you ask him how he fitted his spotties - seem to be straight onto the bumper - I'm looking to do exactly the same with mine and think his looks the business. love the exhausts but a little more than i hoped for money wise just now.
I was after anybody who had modified an existing exhaust onto their x-trail.
meanwhile i'll save the pennies...

They're better than the genuine ones in that they have more travel in them so won't split the same and are made of better material. :thumbs:

Remarks: This bump stop kit includes a universal bumpstop with a unique tapered bore. This means it is suitable for all types of shock absorber with rod diameters of anything from 10-22mm. If you are not sure which one of our bump stops is suitable for your car, then BS009K will do the job.

In addition to the bump stop it includes a durable shock absorber cover with ties to secure it to the shock absorber body. This will protect the central shock rod from stop damage and corrosion.

Looks like I'll be getting mine from UK.

I can get them there for £22 a pair + £17 shipping = £61 (AU$103.40) a set.
The Aus stockist wants AU$85 (£49) a pair

I contacted POWERFLEX to ask them why they're stopping production of the Kit and this is the reply I got back from them today.

seems a bit more 'full stop' by LarkSpeeds standards. 4-6 weeks i can do thanks.

As for my strut spacers i think it may be cheaper to get the measurments, picture etc and getting a steel fabricators to make me some.... will be stripping the exy suspension soon!

They still seem to be in business Roy and still producing the kit. The fire must of been in May last year as they did stop production as you can see in the previous posts. :thumbs:

Great to hear they're back in business. If anyone has an old car that they can't find standard bushes for, send powerflex the details/dimensions and they'll cross match for you (example - there's some ancient austin mini bush you can't find any more - Powerflex will sell you a Mk2 Fiesta gearchange stabiliser bush which is identical!), or quote you for a one-off. Most handy company.
