Sometimes need to carry longish items/ladders/boom and rudder, from wooden boat, about 15' long and find the Nissan bars too close together.Previous car 245 Volvo estate had gutters so could put bars at front and rear,also long roof,so no problem with seesaw effect.Thought perhaps a triangular structure fitted to tow bar to provide 3rd support or think I once saw some blow up sausage like pads you could fit instead of roof bars/attached via straps thro doors? to use as extra front and rear supports(don't know how you'd fasten the rear one though. Guess they didn't work or they'd still be around.
