Hi nigxl. Will you post up how you get on fitting the towbar. If it is pretty strait forward I would be tempted to have a go myself.

Yeah I sure will, was planning on doing it yesterday but got sidetracked.
Can't see me doing it today as it's blowing a hooligan.
I may even do one of those build things with pics and stuff.

Posted a few pics.
Worst bit is probably prising the bumper off without breaking things, especially in cold weather.

Oh and read my note about fine threads on the self nuts in the chassis!

Picked up the new Xy today. T32 Ntec in Oyster grey. Will have a read of the owner manual tonight to see how everthing works. The old gal has to go now so if anyone is interested send me a PM for details. Will leave in profile for a bit.

Finally got around to fitting the bar.
I bought the PF Jones detachable, which I believe is the same as the Witter bar.
I didn't bother with pics as I think the previous link is good enough, but give yourself plenty of time.
The worst part IMO is removing the bumper as you also need to partly remove the wheel arch trim to expose the front bumper mounting bolt.

Two people are better than one when it comes to refitting the bumper as it's quite flimsy and flaps about a bit with potential to scratch paintwork.
The dedicated wiring kit is a doddle to fit but be gentle removing the inner side trim and take your time.

Switch off rear parking sensors and cameras
Adjust suspension setting
Use secondary towing map in ecu software to give more torque to engine
Remap the auto gearbox settings
Switch off rear fog light on car
And various other things.

I'm Omar from Italy and this is my caravan:


My Tow is Thule/Brink Brand with specific interface.
But I'm disappointed.
Start and stop is not deactivated.
Parking sensors are not deactivated.
Only the back frog lamp is deactivated

Recently picked up my '15 plate T32 tekna, and bought a tower (detachable) off ebay from a Polish company. It was a very easy fit and cost me €170 delivered. I'm a mechanic so fitting was no problem, but as towers go, I found this really easy. It included the wiring and relay that is problem free for all the systems on the car.

Quality of the bar and attachments I have found to be 100%.

I know this won't appeal to everyone, but it works for me and I tow an 18foot caravan.

I'm not sure whether the T32 supports this with the trailer attached. I need to disable the parking sensors using the button and BSW from the menu. Not sure that I expect Stop/Start to be disabled automatically either.

Remember that Milton said, I am not saying that the T32 does all of the above, but it is a fairly intelligent car and I bet it does some of it if not all.

I would contact Nissan and ask the question "What gets adjusted when a trailer is attached?"


So it might be an inconvenience rather than a problem, if the car doesn't support this.

For "Blind Spot Warning" not exist the button. When I drive in the bend it signals an obstacle!
Nissan does not solve the problem! :headbang:
A software update is required on the car!
In other cars the "S&S" system (example Jeep / FCA) is disabled with the button(and remembers the selection)

Ah, didn't notice you had the 2017 model.

Is there an option to disable the BSW (and other driving aids) from the SETTINGS menu?

Stop/Start needs to be turned off each time the car is started - which is pretty frustrating.

It exists.
But every trip with caravan in 4 submenus is wearisome.
In other cars it is automatic.
S&S ( fridge 300watt), ParkSensor and BSW
Nissan Italy does not cooperate.
The caravans are few

even those who have the button; as soon as the reverse gear engages, they reactivate park sensor :bigcry:

I am not 100% sure but I don't think my reversing sensors beep when the caravan is connected. Will check next time we are out with it. I did pay the extra to have the vehicle specific wiring harness fitted.

Just had my Nissan Dealer fit a removable ball tow bar to my T32c as their price pretty much matched other towbar specialists in the area.
£640 fully fitted with 7pin Elecs for Genuine Nissan towbar (actually Brink).

Only needed it for bike carrier (which I've not bought yet), looks neat and no visable cuts.
