Hi all, I have just wired my towbar electrics with a bypass relay. I found the multi plug in the top back left corner wired the relay in and connected to the 7n pin socket to connect my trailer to. I have testEd the socket and the correct pins get power at the correct operation ie pin 1 has on off power when the left hand indicator if put on etc etc. showing the socket is wired correctly.
The problem I have is when I connect a trailer board only a right hand side light comes on either flashes with indicator or on all the time side light? I have tested the trailer board on another vehicle and it works fine .
The earth is good.
the relay clicks with the light operation so not stuck.
could it be faulty relay, how do I test the relay.
Any ideas.

hi , I managed to sort the problem a bad connection, don’t know how it would cause such a strange problem but sorted now.
