This is the earlier replacement ...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Upgraded-62m ... 890.l49292

And this is the latter ...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UPGRADED-ALU ... 890.l49292

This seller ships to France. Both items are welded. The main difference is the core size, which is shown in the listings.
Thanks.
Seems to be the same part as other listed on e-bay. I am keen to buy in Europe as I don't want to pay VAT twice...
It is the same as other parts listed on Ebay. I provided links to this seller as they have both versions available, and also because I bought mine off them. I would rather pay 20% VAT on an item costing £90, than pay around £180 including VAT once.
I have asked if they have one available to ship from Europe. They are listed as being a German business.

No issues in fitting the ASI one? I have found one in Germany.

There is a possibility that you have the later, Euro 4 setup. If you post your VIN, I can look it up for you. The ASI one would be fine, but not sure if welded or crimped.

They are almost certainly Chinese in origin!

It looks like a Euro3 car to me. This is also mentioned on the registration document.
Your car was built 08/2004

OE intercooler part number 14461EQ405 so is the earlier cooler as suspected.

I have found images of the ASI model which is definitely welded.

I measured it.

Thanks for all the pointers earlier in this thread. I swapped out the intercooler today. I will order some silicon hose suitable for turbo inlet use.

I will have to pop the intercooler off to fit it, but then I will be happy.

The French equivalent of the MOT tetest was done today.
No issues with the oil leak to report. I am hoping the Chinese intercooler now outlasts the rest of the car.

Getting close to nudging 300k km now.

Cowboy lost his Turbo after oil leaks - This is the tell tale sign u need to start thinking to replace turbo people.
ive been doing what the previous reply stated with folded up absorbent paper under the intercooler and not had any turbo issues for the last 50,000 miles . the ars done 170,000 miles now so im not sure this means categorically the turbo will die!
