We've a 2006 XT Columbia, I assume that the disc for the sat nav is at the best 2005 version.

Anyone know if it is possible to get updated mapping, or is this a silly question? If the mapping is available, is the price extortionate?

Hi Jonjo,
My Last x-Trail was an 05 t-spec and some friends had bought a second hand 04 SVE. They approached me because for some reason the CD was missing from the car and Nissan wanted some stupid price (Ithink about £275) for a replacment. He asked me if he could borrow my CD then burn onto a blank one (bear with me as I am not too technical when it comes to these fangeled computer things!).He gave me back my CD and all was OK. He said he would make it worth my while but the bottle of wine/chocs never materialised!!
The new Sat nav in the T31 is an uprade with more features and colour graffics so I would assume the CD would not be compatible with the hardware but it might be worth a try. Good Luck.
ps. Just seen in For sale on this site 08-09 genuine Nissan sat nav cd's for sale at £65- Worth a try?

Hi Ken,

It would be good to hear if the upgrade disc works in your version as it should be the same as mine. Keep us informed

Hi Ken

I too have a 2005 X-Trail and would be very interested to know if you disk(s) worked.

If they do can you let me know the part numbers/references nos on the disks please as I'm having real problems getting the same answer from 2 dealers.

Hi,

Got the dvd yesterday but it didn't work. After maybe a minute I got the disk error message. The map version was the same as the one above.

Sent a mail to the dealer and they will send me another version.

I've heard that on some models you have to use a program cd first, anyone that can confirm that information?

The map version quoted only works on the newer models that accept a single disc. It is a replacement for the previous disc numbered. 25920 JG471 the 2007/8 maps.

Hope that helps.

I thought I had the single disk system

Can someone please tell how you can see the difference on both systems (old or new)?
And if you have an old system is it possible to upgrade to a new system without to much trouble?

Ken,

I have been in contact with Nissan Europe regarding satnav and received this.

"If your system is DVD-based and not CD-based you will have to check that your DVD's don't have the part numbers KE288-9996X-06 or KE288-9997X-06. If the part number written on your DVD is one of the two, there is no update available, you already have the latest version. If it is not then you have to see if it says that the version is 6.X. The last "Map DVD Europe" for that model would then be the mentioned 6.x KE288-9996X-06. If there is an update available then it can be obtained from your local Nissan dealer. Please note that these updates do not enable the system to search via postcode. "

I don't think that you can upgrade from the old system to the new one :headbang: but hope this helps you.

If this is any help to people I have a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder with a factory fitted sat nav. It would appear after lots of comms to Nissan that there are 2 types of disc the first and probably most common is the factory fitted sat nav as fitted to all aventura models, this requires part (nissan part number) KE288-9997X-07>the second and probably less common is the after market or fit it yourself model this requires KE288-9997X-06.
The markings on the disc according to Nissan are 25920 JU 40A and its a lilac coloured disc. One small problem I just purchased one for £55 from Nissanupgrades (http://muply.webs.com) they sent that disc but it refused to load, just said loading and that was all I sent it back to them for another now not anwering emails or anything so am £55 down and still no disc. Does anyone know where I can get a disc....... new from Nissan £500 +vat if you please !!!! Dave

Found this image of the newer interface but in a mk1 Xtrail. My Sat Nav doesn't have the blue coloured menus on the left but jumps you to a grey/orange interface.

Is this the difference between the various firmware versions. Is it possible to update the firmware from my older orange/grey version and then get a newer data disc and get this type of display and data?

hello Ken I am coming to the same conclusion, trouble is my disc, if Nissan are to be believed and is the latest is now 4 years old, surly they should be updating by now.
when I look at my disc it does not have any KE288 numbers on just EOE 363r etc on it all seems very complicated and Nissan are no help whatsoever! Dave

Just to add an extra number to the pot.
I put the programme disc into the dvd slot and it tells my version is ZRBEE013. Tried to google this number but didn't get anything. Is this the firmware number?
