Hello all, I am new to this site and new to Xtrails, have just bought 2 of them for the whole family, one is 05 and the other is 07, both done around 120k miles and the newer one particularly is very noisy but performs well.
Have decided to give her a birthday treat in the form of an oil change and was wondering if a thicker oil might quieten her down a bit. I see that Europarts are offering all sorts of filters, but the Crossland one is cheapest at a little over £1!
Any thoughts / advice would be very welcome.

Thanks, Chris

Thinner oil is best especially when cold at this time of year. I found the standard 5/30 fully synthetic changed at 4k-5k miles would keep my T30 dci quiet .I would add say 200ml of red diesel before the oil change and take for a 10 min drive to warm up then drain and that helped keep any sludge build up at bay ,
