I need to fit a rotating twin halogen beacon to my vehicle.

I intend to fit it to a roof bar and want to be able to remove the bar when I don't need the beacon.

I intend to fit a feed direct from the battery to a new, small fuse box. I want to fit a switch with warning light and then to a connection near the light so than I can unplug it.

Has anyone got any suggestions how I go about this.

Do I need to fit a relay and what type of cable etc. should I use.

Any help would be welcome.

Many thanks

Baz

Gave it a thought: why don't you use the towbar electrics? There's alway power available. Use a plug and a twirled cable.

Hi Baz

Yes you'll need a relay if connecting 2 halogens - take it you mean 55w type? How often would you be fitting the light bar as this may have a bearing on the wiring/installation. Also - is this a coloured flashing beacon (orange/green?)

Thanks for getting back to me guys.

1st, haven't got a tow bar so that solution is out!

During the winter the Amber beacons will be fitted most of the time, other times, only when needed.

I am a volunteer with our local 4x4 response group.

I was hoping to have some sort of plug near the tailgate so I can just unplug them when they are not needed, with this running to a switch on the dash.

I look forward to any more help :bigcry:
