Hi

My Xtrail T30 2005 recently failed its MOT on the Rear Subframe Mounting had corroded.

I have searched for a rear subframe mount but just cant find this item. I can only see the 4 mounts for the actual subframe itself.

Can anyone tell me what the parts name is so i can source a replacement? Has anyone sourced any of these previously that may be able to assist?

Really appreciate your help

Lee

That rusted plate is the fuel filler pipe bracket (the pipe goes back and up to the filler cap).
You'd be best removing it and seeing whether the chassis member is corroded underneath.

Fuel filler pipe part no: 172218H801
Updated part no: 172218H81A

If it is corroded you'd need that section cut out and replaced by a competent welder

Looks like your going to have to replace your fuel filler neck anyway so buy a new one. I would remove the old one. Get a small grinder and grind down to metal and check structure with a small hammer if you find there's no rot prime it and under seal it then fit your new filler neck.
I would also paint your new filler neck because they are not primed only coated with black paint.
Get some Hammerite Black smooth and give it two coats.

Many thanks for your replies.

After exhaustive searching i figured out that was actually the fuel pipe bracket that has corroded.

New Filler pipe assembly was ordered and now received. I will paint as suggested for some protection.

My mechanic is going to patch the chassis and fit new pipe for me.

Thanks again all.
