Hi Ayrton and Cowboy,
Did you both complete your planned installs? Any chance of an update as I've just picked up my T30 and I'm looking to do (cheap) upgrades until I'm become more cash rich (it's currently a third car but will become first when the other two (1x company, 1x track toy) go at some point this year).
Any info or ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks Martyn, looks like this weekend could be filled with my first few set of interior mods.

Hi Chief, welcome to the forum. I've had lots of friendly and helpful advice from the good people here and I'm sure you will too.

I decided against the Chinese import in the end and opted for a second hand Pioneer AVIC-F930BT. This was not a budget option, and I had to pay £250 for it even though it was second hand. However I am very pleased with it. It plays CDs and DVDs, takes a bluetooth input from my phone or laptop, has an SD slot, relays calls, and has sat-nav. Pretty much everything you are going to want. It will take a reversing camera if you have one, I intended to get one, but I haven't had any trouble reversing the XT so I changed my mind.

Not as cheap as the import, but Pioneer is a quality brand and I'm a bit of an audiophile, so when I get round to changing my speakers I know I will be getting optimal sound quality.

Regards
Glynn

Thanks for this post Shay - exactly what I have been planning to do - now I know it is possible! I will be fitting a Pioneer SPH-DA120.

Cheers,
Mike

Hey just got my xtrail and replaced the stereo with an alpine HU but it's only a single din, and there is now a gap just wondering if anybody else has done the same and got a blanking plate or extra pocket to put into the empty slot to make it look nice

Just finished fitting my Pioneer SPH-DA120 head unit. Very frustrating because Halfords list the wrong patch lead for my 52 plate X Trail so I ended up doing about 170 miles to get the correct lead! Anyway all fitted now, plus I moved the cubby hole unit down to where the (broken) CD changer was. Just need to sort the facia now, I dont fancy paying another 30 quid on ebay for an X Trail specific one.

Cheers,
Mike
