Nice one mate, it's almost too simple a solution but it works!

Yes, great, was a bit confused with people saying you need an adapter. Wasted £26 but all sorted now. Would be good idea to put this in the how to section, as I would imagine quite a few people change headunits.

Good idea blacklab1. I'm thinking of changing mine but these problems put me off although I did change a factory 2 din to a single din and fascia on ford focus a few years ago without problems but it seems connections are more and more complicated.

Basically I have 3 wires leaving the swc switch and what I need to know is where I can intercept them to connect to headunit? Spent hours trying and searching online.

So, the SWC plug that went into the old head unit should have 3 wires on it.

This plug has nowhere to go in your new head unit so the 2 coloured wired need joining to Key1 and Key2 on the new head unit. The remaining black needs to go to a ground connection on the head unit, (this was labelled as such on my Xtrons unit, I'll attach a photo)

Just strip back some wire and twist and tape to test them for now
I also have a Dab radio and there is nowhere to plug the swc cable to the back of the unit.Is this the same problem what you helped the other member with.Barry
