Is there any way once you get out of the car and turn the engine off to close the electric windows if they have been left down by mistake. Seems so dated to have to go back inside the car and press ignition to power the windows back up.

I've tried pressing the key fob buttons but no joy.

My old 7 yr old Renault could do this and I'm amazed with the Tecknas gadgets and advances I cant find a way to do this.

Also cant get the sunroof to auto close when powering down if left open too ?

I don't think there is an automatic process. However, closure of the mirrors isn't really necessary. The shape of the car body and the position of the mirrors means that the mirrors only extend a fraction of inches beyond the width of the wheel arches so the chances of them being caught by a passer by is remote.

Must be an after market kit out there if a factory one isn't an option. I see this one for the Qashqai on E Bay, would be very suprised if something similar isn't available for the X Trail: http://www.ebay.ie/itm/NIssan-QASHQAI-A ... 4af04302e7

You will find lots of generic window closer, or window power controller/modules, but you'll need to know a little about electronics to install it.

Hello!

Recently bought a 2016 X-Trail. Very disappointed to learn that the windows do not close automatically when you lock the car with the Intelligent Key. As written in the post here, this is basic feature that you would expect a car that reads road signs and more to do the same.

I would say that not only closing the windows but the sunroof and folding the mirrors when locking the car should come from factory. I know that there is a kit to make the mirrors fold automatically, probably will get it installed.

But is there a solution for the windows - won't ask for the sunroof, that would be too much - that won't compromise Nissan's guarantee? Since the last reply on this post was almost a year ago, maybe something changed.

Thanks

you or someone else , could probably pretty easily mod something like this to work on the windows instead of the door locks.

http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Universal-Cars-R ... SwMsVXjGhV

It would mean wiring through a relay to the internals of the window switches so that the additional remote would operate those as if you were pressing the switches ... that would give you remote control to close the windows ..

If I were doing that I think I'd pick up a replacement window /door switch module from a breakers or e-bay to experiment on
so as not to affect your warranty .

J

Not 100% sure, but I expect they are to lock and unlock doors from an interior switch.
