unfortunately it makes good business sense, sales of the Xtrail are falling across Europe, so why move all the maunufcaturing and tooling half way around the world, on a vehicle that is likely ceasing production in the next few years?
Hopefully by the the time all the nonsense over Europe is sorted, they will build the replacement in the UK.
I imagine it'll be because Japan now has a shiny new trade deal with the EU, whereas ours is looking a tad shaky at present. Still, at least Sunderland voted to leave, so they'll be pleased...
Have a 2015 X-Trail, but does not live in the UK. From what I read earlier, the X-trail was built in Japan. Quality control-"tickets" arouind in my car had Japanese letters/writing.
So I was under the impression that the Qashqai for the EU marked was built in the UK, while the X-trail - at least initially - was built in JP.
I looked in to an Estonian online car market site and all T32 vin's begun with J
