Hi All

T30 2005 Dci Sport..... In the top glovebox - behind steering wheel - there is a cigarette lighter, I want to use this source but for some reason I have no power going to it... I think I've found it in the manual (PG-POWER-05) but not sure which one it is - 10A 18 or 15A 23 ??

Thanks

Hello kp220,

I think you are right - it should be fuse 23, alternatively check 17 or 18...

Hello kp220,

Pleased I was online and able to help.

You may also find this of use for any other fuse/fusible links - which are under the bonnet - for your future reference...

Helpful but I'm still puzzled ... which fuse is for the car alarm siren?

Hi Gamekeeper.
I too would like to know if there is a fuse for the alarm siren. The lad has just bought a new motor ( Audi A4 DTM) and it has twin pipes and when it is parked on the drive in front of the Xy and he starts it up from cold it sets the alarm off. First time it's gone off to my knowledge since I have had it and I thought it strange that there was no siren only flashing indicators. Does anyone know if the X trail has got a siren? He parks it further away now

Cheers. Martyn.

Hello Martyn and Gamekeeper,

With the 2005 2.2dCi, I can confirm that there is no "siren" - the NATS provides visual warning through the indicator lights and an intermittent audible warning through the horn. Other X-Trail Models may vary, and there is also the chance that a previous owner has fitted a different alarm system - incorporating a siren...

From what I can see the NATS system [on a 2005 dCi] is protected by fuses 4, 5, 26, 28 and 34; and fusible link B. I have highlighted the relevant areas from my maintenance manual in the following...

I hope this is of some assistance with your query.

Best wishes, John

Thanks for the reply John. Informative as always  The red light flashes as it should and the horn works OK from the steering wheel so I will check the fuses especially no 34. I suppose one way of testing the alarm is to leave the drivers window open and lock the car then wait a minute and wave your hand around in front of the sensor on the door pillar. That should set it off shouldn't it?

Cheers. Martyn.

Just done the sensor test through the window and just the indicators started flashing so looks like the fuses need investigating.
