Hi all.

I have broken the usb port in the dash of my X-Trail..
Has anyone removed the port in the dash ? How easy is it to do? what tools did you use?
I don't particularly want to mark the dash getting the old one out.
I can just about get my hand behind the usb up the back of the dash but can't get any push on it.

I have bought a genetic Chinese usb port for a couple of quid to try.

Any help appreciated.
Mark

How the **** did this happen?? Use a hammer to put it in? Almost impossible to brake this other than use too much force... But repairing? No idea, I've took a look at mine but see not how. U have to use a new mask I guess. Costs? Ring your dealer I should say. Think its very pricy....

Maybe a solution:
Try to get the USB plate (where it's mounted) out with a broad screwdriver or so. Careful! Maybe u can change the whole thing for an old one from a computer/walkman or so. Need 2 right hand though and a soldering iron and some wire.

How did this happen.I think i pushed my usb player in to the slot on a angle bending one of the very small blades. This i pushed back up in to the straight line, except it wasn't quite right so i re-adjusted it except i managed to snap off one of the little blades.

I bought a genetic USB port from e-bay but the fitting on the rear are totally different.

I have tried a couple of e-bay breakers but they want big money for one..

So i'll just keep singing
