I was talking to a friend about having to buy a restore kit for my head light
He said try tooth paste well I tried that and it works a treat
Others I've tried are dishwasher rinse aid in your windscreen wash stop the rain sticking to your screen
And my final one as I used to have a land rover freelander is very cheap peanut butter to use to clean the black work
It comes up a treat I use to do it twice ayear.

Some cracking tips there cheers buddy!

I had heard of the peanut butter one but never tried it! I will try the others when needed. Just did my lamps with T Cut and an electric buffer.

I always use a rub down technique to bring back yellow headlights it always seems to work but does require a bit of elbow grease:

you will need:

1500 and 2000 grade wet and dry paper (plenty of water too, i always put a bit of washing up liquid in the water as this helps prevent clogging)

Automotive masking tape

T Cut or Autoglym paint restorer

quality cotton cloth to apply and remove T Cut and sealer

A sealer, some high quality car polish will do.

Begin by masking off all painter areas around your headlamps, a good 4-5 inches should suffice, spray headlamps liberally with water (an old recycled cleaner bottle is fine) and wipe over, removing any dirt, grit, dead insects etc.

dampen your wet and dry 1500 and begin to rub down each headlamp in turn until all yellowing has been removed, remembering to keep rinsing your paper and using plenty of water, your headlights will now appear to be cloudy or opaque.

repeat the process with the 2000 grade wet and dry paper again using plenty of water, the headlights will now appear less cloudy.

dry the headlights thoroughly and get the T Cut or Autoglym paint restorer and begin to rub into the headlights applying a good amount of pressure. this make take 2 or 3 applications

Buff off the t cut and your headlights should now be looking 100% better, apply sealant to keep them in good condition.

I hope this helps

Mentioned this a long time ago: silver (or gold) polish will do the job.
Little surfaces (silver bracelet, rings, watches) you can get very shiny with cigar-ash and water.
If you have a vase or a bottle you will clean on the INSIDE: use rice and water and shake it like you brew a cocktail.

TOOTH PASTE is fantastic for bringing your headlights back up to a nice shinny finish. You need to apply it via a soft buffer pad on a variable speed drill.
