Hi, just wondering if anyone has experience of ChipsAway or similar scratch / dent repair companies that come to your door?
I stupidly bumped into a wooden post in a car cark the other day and scratched the front bumper and wing, if it was not for the plastic front wing I'd have big dent to deal with also, judging by how far up the wheel arch the scratch marks are, the front wing must have been pushed in a fair amount, but retuned to its normal shape fortunatly, probably would have needed a new wing had it been steel!

I used a similar company for a stone chip. The small print talked about it being a "disguise" repair only. Sure enough, that's what I got! If you look closely, you can tell where it was. Mind you, that was a 20+ year old car with metallic paint and a clearcoat lacquer. It might be better with a solid colour and no lacquer. Worth searching on Youtube for something called (I think) the Langka System. I could get at least as good a result myself, but still not perfect.

Had a chipsaway dude take care of a previous car and was quite a reasonable price, pleased with the job. Got a quote more recently and was gobsmacked at what he wanted.... I believe they're franchised so it may be that one operator is cheekier than another...! Worth getting a free quote from a couple of companies...

Used them for a few chips/scratches on SWMBO's company car when it went back. Not the cheapest but cheaper than the lease company would have stung us for!

Quality - I think pretty good, although for the rear bumper scratches they did a 3/4 respray rather than paint them individually.

No comment from the lease company upon return and we all know how picky they can be!!!

I have used Chips Away several times, on both my X-Trail and the wife's Pixo.

Excellent job every time and the job on my wife's car was one third of the price we were quoted at the local body shop.

I would recommend them every time - at least my local guy.

My local guy charged £125 to rub down and respray a scratch and it took several hours - quite reasonable, I thought.
