Post subject:  Rear Bumper Protector

Just thought I'd post this one as it seems to be a nice accessory.

When we viewed our 15 Plate T32, it had had some rather careless scratches on the rear bumper caused by loading/unloading. Whilst we had this repainted as part of the deal, it was obvious that it could happen again to some degree. I looked at the official bumper protector but that doesn't protect the edge of the bumper (ours had some paint chipped in that area).

I scoured the t'internet and found what looks quite OEM with good protection (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rear-Bumper-P ... 2478551442)

This fits relatively nice and flush and is the same colour plastic as the bumper, so really looks part of the car. It just uses 3M adhesive tape and since it naturally aligns with the center of the bumper, it was easy to fit in 5 minutes.

That's rather nice...looks like a really good fit too, thanks for posting.
The advert says plastic and steel - so is the long shiny trim metal, or chromed plastic? And does it seem like it'll stand up to a bit of action without getting unduly scratched itself?
Regards,
Andrew

Just an update!

It's been through a few more miles now, and I'm please to say that the protector is holding up really well and already stopped a potential scuff or two with the kids helping unload some heavy items!.

The main black plastic is really holding up well, and still looks immaculate. The chrome strips are seemingly fairly cheap, with exceedingly minor fine scratches appearing through use, and the XTrail logo also has had a few very fine small scratches from use, but both still look in excellent condition.

I was worried it might flex/warp or come loose, but it's held on exceedingly well with the supplied 3M Tape.
