In the process of buying a 2016 N-Tec, unfortunately it comes with only 1 key, so I need to purchase a spare myself(part of the deal), where do I go to purchase the said spare key, thanks in advance.

You will get one from a good locksmith who should also be able to program it. I would suggest pricing one at a Nissan Dealership because you will have a shock and will need to allow for it in the price.

Dealer only, if part of the deal. Why should agree with less than OEM.

I was saying get dealer price for negotiations and find someone cheaper. I have a programmer but not a source for the key.

You could just say it’s a problem and you will have the car with two keys or you will look elsewhere. There are always plenty of XTrails to choose from.

Try translating if you struggle to understand me.

The Funny thing is that the OEM quality key comes only from a dealer, + key prgamming. I do no know that the locksmiths have Snapon or bosch diagnostic tool to intoduce the new key to the car.
I meant that There may not be a cheaper solution.

In the older days was simple. Locksmith copyied the IMMo to the new/replica/chinese key and you where able to but the car in to key learning mode as a DIY to open/close the doors.

3 years back 2005 Audi A6 key from dealer was ca 400€ with programming(co-worker situ). 2006 Honda civic HB was 300€(my case). In Estonia.

Co-worker went to the dealer with the seller. Seller paid the ordering and programming. Deal was made and dealer caller coworker when they where ready to programm the key. I took like 10 days to order.

Similar story with the civic. I bougth it from my boss and sayd that he has the key somewhere, but after 6 months he still could not find it. So after the quote from dealer, he payd me the price after that.

Thanks for replies, no going back, Ive bought the car(too good a deal), so are we saying buy a replacement fob off the internet, and get an auto locksmith to programme it into the car, if correct, what sort of price should I expect to pay for fob?.

For all I know: spare keys are no key anymore, more a sort of computer. And that makes them more expensive than in the old days.
I had recently a Suzuki as you know. A spare key was needed (The other one was &!^%$#(not doing his tricks anymore) Beyond repair. So I needed a new one. More than 300 Euros!!! I told them polight where they could stick it and did all with one key and the normal key which was included at the Soes. Me happy.
But maybe a breaker has one?
