Bought my Xy last Saturday from outside Stoke on Trent - a wee jaunt of 550mile round trip. Car is a 53 plate with 97k on the clock and usual SVE refinements - just had a new clutch and recent full service which made the car a good proposition.

Seller was a bit over enthusiastic about the condition - while the arches were clean it had a few scrapes and pushes on the bumpers/bodywork and there was only one key :headbang: Both bumpers were sitting slightly askew and there are small leather pieces off the inside of the front seats by the central arm rest.

That said the car drove sweet - mechanically excellent and clean underneath. Managed to knock the seller down another couple of hundred and headed North happy in the knowledge I got a good deal. Enjoyed learning/working on my last car Honda Prelude Vti and see this as a new project

So here she is ...

Only the one photo at the moment I'm afraid. She has a full Nissan Chrome pack and privacy windows making her look Gangsta   and stand out a wee bit from the crowd.

Worked on her over the weekend. Have now taken off and refitted both bumpers so they are once again straight, touched up paint chips around the doors, fitted HAWK reverse sensors, new Vibe Slick 6 speakers in all doors and new Bosch wipers all round. This weekend i plan to give her a full interior and exterior (using a rotor polisher for the first time :o ) valet and polish to make her as good as possible.

Future Upgrades on the cards:
- remove Clarion tape player and faulty CD auto changer. Fit cheap amp I have lying around to front speakers.
- remove Nokia 6320i phone cradle and wiring.
- oil and filter change
- fit Team Heko's
- fit boot mat
- any other inexpensive ideas?

Thanks for looking

Hi, You have been busy, one more thing that I have is rear bumper protector often see them on Ebay.

If it's not too rude to ask what did you pay for it ?

Will do - good idea! We bought this car as a better alternative to our Civic to transport our Lab puppy so protecting the bumper lip would be good  . No probs divulging price. Like i say not in concours condition but has full Nissan OEM chrome kit, mechanically sound having a full oil, oil filter, air filter and fuel filter change, new clutch change, 2 new (budget admittedly) tyres,MOT till end May 14 and full 6 months tax. Drove faultlessly during test drive and on the 270mile return trip home.

It cost me 2k.

Cheers mate

There was no need for a diesel - it's effectively a local runabout 'beater' (did I just say that??? ) car - my wife works local and covers under 100 miles a week. We had a Prelude VTi 2.2 so fuel costs are not that different. Glad I went for the 2.5 tho - less stressed than the 2litre

Yep..it's a good lump.!...I'm certainly NOT anti-diesel..and if I actually needed the torque and tugging power then I would consider the X Trail (when I used to tow I had a 2.8 diesel Shogun.!)..but now the petrol is simply right for me.
