Hi All,

Just Bought our first XT... 04 T-Spec, only covered 88k, paid a bit of a premium for it as it was from an independant dealer but it has FSH and is in very good condition inside and out and everything works !

Looking forward to the snow now!

We have only had it a week and are very happy with it, really pleased we went for the X-Trail over a Santa-Fe, its going to be my partners car primarily and she is already thinking she wants an 07+ XT next !

2 questions for a new XT owner... Anyone recommend a known reliable source to get an updated Sat Nav disk and has anyone painted the plastic on the roof bars ? - i don't like the grey and want to either go matt black or gloss black to match the vehicle more.

Cheers,

BK

Hi and welcome. Nice motor in the only right colour to (***) Do I step on some-ones toes?? )
You can paint plastics. You have to use a special primer first and afterwards you can spray em in the right colour. I think (but this is personal) black is not a good colour to spray the roof-rails with... Think it will look like your car has a bulge.

By the way: fill out the most left column please, so we can help you with all other stuff.

I am cautious it won't look good in black gloss (hence the consideration of Matt)

I just really don't like them the way they are, you can't see it in the pictures - again possibly a personal view but I just don't think the greyish colour looks good against the black.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

You could always consider wrapping them, plenty of options available, including carbon fibre effect, which would look rather tasty. You can have a company do this for pretty reasonable money or buy a role and DIY. Lots of How To videos on YouTube.

Kind regards,
