Hi all
I am sorry to say That after all the problems I have had with my SVE I have decided the XT is not for me.
The last straw was when I was told I need a new turbo fitted at the cost of£1500 I decided to trade it in and by a Medium size MPV.
After already spending close to a thousand pound in 7 months I decided it was time to bite the bullet and trade it in for something newer,
I would of liked a new model XT but all of the ones I looked at were well above my price range or high mileage, so I have bought a 2010 Zifera 1.9Tdci Elite

The forum has been very helpful with my trials and tribulations, so I would like to thank you all for your kind help over the months.

Hello David,
I think you have been unlucky with your X-Trail faults and expenses over the last year, and can understand why you changed. I hope your Zifera serves you well.
Thank you for your contributions to the Forum.
Best wishes, John

Hi Some information that may be of interest to the forum, I had my XT checked out by a 4X4 specialist regarding the strong smell of oil burning when towing. He explained to me that the smell was from the inside of the exhaust, and that oil was passing through the turbo shaft seals into the exhaust system and I would need a replacement turbo to cure the fault.

That was when I decided to cut my losses and trade it in.
Once again thanks for everyone's help in the past and happy X-Trailing to all
