Nice job. It looks like you repainted the black door sills or whatever they are called. Curious if you would provide some info on your painting technique and the prep required? Mine are getting a bit faded. Basically is it just some sanding, masking off the area and spray painting black? Do you add a clear coat coating afterwards?

Do you mean the black frames around the door glass front and rear doors? I have painted all of those yes at the same time as the A pillar up the side of the windscreen all the way along the roof and including the roof spoiler. All are painted 3 coats matt black no lacquer. Normal prep, sanding any peeling clear coat off, primer if needed. On the door frames, I used etch primer first then 3 coats matt black. Any other body work along the roof and the roof mounted spoiler, just regular sanding, primer and three coats matt black. Mirrors are also matt black to tie it all in. If you mean another part of the car let me know... the door sills they are the panels under the doors, rockers I think maybe they also get called...

Thank you Pete,

Not much at all! she spends a lot of time off road so everything is done for a reason to improve it. even down to the floor mounted pull out cooker in the boot and fridge with 20 litres of water storage! There's recovery ramps on the roof rack always, full set of recovery gear in the back, more lights than blackpool! including a magnetic pull out worklight on a 20 foot lead. a two inch body lift and a custom stainless exhaust that increase ground clearance to about 14 inches now.

The black wheels are satin black with BF Goodrich KO2's and the other wheels are indeed gun metal grey with Insa Dakar mud terrains. All standard sizes 215/65/16, the wheels are poweder coated original x-trail wheels.

That is an amazing transformation, one of the nicest I have seen.

I take it that yours is a 'di' rather than a 'dci'?

The underside looks in fantastic nick.
