The engine warning light has come on, probably as the car has not been used much for months and I took it for a good blast at the weekend! Is there a way to check what the error is and reset the light! I found a page that said to turn the ignition to on, wait 3 seconds, pump the accelerator 5 times within 5 seconds, wait 7 seconds then depress the accelerator for 0 seconds. No matter how many times I try I can't get it to work, the light is supposed to star flashing the code but it just stays on solid orange!
The car is a T32 2016 automatic

A basic fault code reader can be bought for under £20. I have one. Before you even think of putting the light out however, you should find out what it is trying to tell you. If it's on there is something wrong with your car. It may be something simple or it could be the start of a major problem, get it checked out, any garage should be able to do it if you can''t do it yourself. You don't need to go to a main dealer unless it is under warranty.

On the automacitcs the key and pedal trick does not work because, when on stanstill the there is only 50 acc pedal signal to the ECU.
Autel AP200 is a good cheap tool, a bit more cash and the thingdiag+ is a bit better.

I'm guessing it is a typing mistake but the accelerator pedal must be held for 10 seconds.

The main tricks to getting this to work (on a T30 and T31 atleast) are...
- Use a watch for timing
- make sure the 5 pedal presses are done in LESS than 5 seconds
- wait EXACTLY 7 seconds
- hold the accelerator pedal UNTIL the MIL light FLASHES which should be about 10 seconds.

The slow flashes at the start are the first digit, then gaps in the flashing separate the 4 digits of the code and the 4 digits repeat until the ignition is turned off. There may be more than a single code in which case all codes will be displayed before repeating.

To reset the MIL light, hold the accelerator pedal for 10 seconds after the light starts flashing the codes.
