Hello, I'm Wimbo

Hello you all. I'm a brand-new member and an brand-new X-Trial owner. My car is almost 5 years old and it's a 2 wheel drive standard model, black (In Holland we call it Comfort)
My age is 59, Dutch and this type of car was always my "dream" to own. My whole life I drove Nissan (With 2 setbacks to Ford) Before the X-Trail, I drove a Ford Focus 1.6 from the year of our Lord 2000. Good car, but not a Nissan... It all began with a brand new Datsun Cherry in 1975. Formidable little car! After that, a Datsun Cherry F-II, A Datsun Cherry F-II Coupe, A Datsun 160 J SSS, a Datsun Cherry Europe, than a Datsun Sunny Coupe (1983, the "round" one), a Datsun Sunny Coupe (1987 model; the "square" one) That last one was the best car I ever had. Unfortunately it burned out (Electrical) Maybe I buy one back "just to have it..." Ever...
After that, I made a side step to Ford, a second hand Escort Clipper (1997) Becouse I played in a band and had a lot of gear to transport; it all fitted in that car. Amp. guitars, cables, standards, the whole lot.
During a garage visit, they told me it was over and out. Too many reparations, more than the car was worth. Searching for another car, Nissan could not offer me one. Primera? No... Almera? No....
It became a second hand (4 years old) Ford Focus. Drivability is 100%, no doubt. Rest... Mwahhh.
It needed new brake disks. I went to my garage and I saw him standing there... A deep dark black Nissan X-Trail. YEP!!! I might take it out for a spin, and my wife agreed that we bought is (The Ford was almost 11 years old)
She drives a Almera of 7 years old herself. A Sport, Fire brigade red. Before she drove Opel (****) and Daihatsu (goooooood cars!!!) The Almera: She is very fond of it!!
The X-Trail: I like driving that car. Very good Engine (2 liter) I have it for 2 weeks now, and found some little things. Upper dashboard case fell off (!) car drives to right side of the road; steering wheel rumbles a little, nothing that cannot be fixed.
I hope, I'll drive it for a long time. I was looking on the Aussie site of X-Trail owners, and I saw them selling a whole lot of nice parts for this car! For instance mirror covers with LED lights (Blinker) Are they also available in Great Britain? Here in The Netherlands: nothing. I'm looking for those special Outdoor roof racks with lights... Un-traceable here.

Maartensdijk is easy to pronounce - mar-tens-dyke

The X-Trail is perfect for band type work - I run a location recording studio and use my X-Trail for carting all the gear to site - and the long LH underfloor space is absolutely perfect for the mic. stands.

hello there wimbo i also have a black xtrail, i hope you have lots of time to clean the car i seem to be never ending cleaning and polishing the car black just shows up everything oh well, lovely colour.
