Odd one this. I've got a mate who fancies the idea of a small caravan...

...to tow behind his Triumph Stag!

I think the kerb weight of a Stag is 1200-1300kg, so he's probably looking at a caravan weighing no more than a ton at the most. It's only him an his wife, so a 2 berth would be fine. Would anyone have an idea whether it's realistic to get a 2 berth caravan weighing under a ton?

Yes a 2 berth should be around or even less than a ton , depending on make and length etc,
the weights will be on the vin plate anyway , my previous Elddis 4 berth came in at 1100 KG

The "What Tow Car" web site has loads of information that would probably interest your mate. It's a great site for info on matching car to caravan etc. Regards, Dave

My 2 berth weighs 1347kg. There should be a rating plate on the caravan. Stags were notorious for overheating without towing.

Thanks all. Looks like it's possible then. Chris, it's funny you should mention that! His was a V8 and kept overheating even without towing! He's now got a straight 6 engine in it, so he should at least have a bit more cooling capacity.
