Hello everyone. You may have read my previous post on the potentially dangerous car and I am on the hunt for a new one.
I have seen a 2007 4x4 skoda octavia 1.9tdi for sale however have concerns. Although it has a full dealership service history (17 stamps) and after inspecting under and around it it has 180k miles. Apparently wasnt a taxi previously. It has been looked after according to big folder of receipts and by it's visual condition but still have concerns. I have to take out a loan to pay off my current xtrail so I can get rid of it then have some money left for a new one. This octavia is just under £3k. Drives very well but still not too cheap for me to gamble.

Does anyone with info about this car have any suggestions?

Forgot to add, it has recently had its third timing belt change

Bullet proof engine & used for many years on various VAG models.

What is the bhp, as there are many variants of the 1.9 tdi

Not sure about the 4WD system, but I'm guessing Audi Quattro.

Hi it's 103bhp. I would prefer a bit more punch for towing but given how often I tow it will do.

If the car was suitable, I would be looking at a remap.

130/140 is very acheivable.

Thanks for the info Rappy.

Would you entertain a car with this mileage? I am not completely put off by it however I do have concerns with general wear and tear parts and don't want to fork out a small fortune over the months after possibly purchasing it.
This time round I need to be a bit more cautious. I'm in a rush but not that much of a rush

If I am successfull with the loan to pay off the finance then me ol exy will become another spares of repairs if anyone's interested. Lot of new and nearly new parts but will make a seperate post when the time comes.

Thanks again
