Thanks guys. It is lovely to drive and has every bell and whistle you can imagine plus a few more. How does it compare to my T30, it doesnt, totally different animal. I refer to a post i made back in 2014 regarding where I think the T32 sits, my view hasnt changed. The only bit in the post that has changed is i did buy one

I loved my T30, for the lifestyle I had at the time I couldnt have asked for a better vehicle. Wipe clean load area for all my wet sailing kit, towed 2000kg boats all over the south of england, drove down access tracks and along towpaths to get to broken down boats etc etc. Could you do this with a T32, probably yes, but the pretty pretty interior and all the external cameras and sensors might take a hammering

However, in 3 years things change, i am now retired, i dont need a functional utility vehicle and i wanted a few more creature comforts. I didnt choose the xtrail lightly, after reading some of the problems some members on here have had with the T32 , i looked at other marques as well. In the last month i have test driven the following new cars:

Toyota Rav4
Toyota CHR
Honda HRV
Honda CRV
Audi Q2
Hyundai i35
Kia sportage
Landrover discovery

I then went on each of the marques user forums and trawled through them.

After all this I still considered the T32 to give the best equipment levels and value for money, plus Nissan were doing some stunning offers during March so not only did I get a pre reg 66 plate xtrail with 8 miles on the clock for under £25k the wife got a new juke tekna for a very good price. Nissan even gave us good trade in prices on the Rav4 and the old Juke.

So, all in all, happy bunnies all round. Hopefully the smile will remain for many years

For me, our T30 ticks all the boxes & I doubt a T32 would compete.

My daily drive is a last gen 5 month old SQ5 plus with a stage 1 map pushing 400bhp & 800nm. It's bonkers quick & still returns over 30 mpg. Practical, fast & very well screwed together.

Mrs Rappy has a 9 mth old Mini Cooper cab, which is a real hoot to drive. Puts a smile on your face everytime you drive.

So, now on to Big Sheila. Money, no object. I stil love the T30 & will be a sad day when we need to get rid. Both me & Mrs Rappy, would not be without her.

The T32 is following the trend of being more premium & less rugged. Not really for me & not a real X-Trail. It still looks to much like a bigger Cashcow to me

Joking aside, I guess we will end up with one next.

Wow, that is some motor you got there Rappy. I agree with you, The T32 is a big QQ, thats why Nissan dropped the +2 as that gap is now nicely filled by the T32. Had I not had a T30 and very briefy a T31 (on loan for a week) i would wonder what all the fuss was about calling it an xtrail. In my opinion they should have done what Ford did with the next gen Escort, they changed the name to Focus because they recognised that owners of Escorts may struggle with the radical step change.

Either way it is a lovely bit of kit and I just call it Katie

As this is an other cars thread, I feel it's OK to discuss Q as I call it.

The main reason I purchased Q was for the engine. The 3.0 bi tdi, is such an amazing unit. Got a great deal due to being the old shape. It's such a pleasure to drive & cheaper, quicker than Porsche Macan that it's based. Std 0-60 in 5 secs.

Mine is around 4.5 to 60. But the mid range shove is bonkers quick.

Strainght line speed it can keep up with sports cars. Handling is Ok. Even though it has a sports diff Not sure an SUV needs it tbh. The only giveaways from a std Q5 is the V6T badge on the side. Larger brake calipers & 4 pipes out the back.It really is discreet, which I like a lot.

Mrs Rappy' Mini is such a quality product. It too, has bi turbo engine. Shared with the 1 series. 3 cylinder 1.5. I have not driven it yet. Simply detail it

The X-trail is the master of all trades. Weekly food shop/Tip runs/holiday car/ dog carrier. This is my go to car.

For 11 yrs old this year, there a few areas showing it's age. But it is so reliable & flexible. I will be giving it a good detail this year.

Keep us updated with the T32.

One question. Why did you not go for the 2.0?
