We had the 2006 UFO civic with the 1.8 petrol and with I-Shift gearbox. Wife loved it, but the ride was like a go-kart, and she got exhausted from that. So we had to sell it.
She liked the 2016+ gen 10 civic alot and drooled about the looks of the Type r  , but it was out of our price range and manual only.
We where afraid of the CVT, but the testdrive showed that it was like DSG. No high revs and waiting fot the speed. The 1.5 Turbo torque begins from 2200 rpm and the pulling starts from there.
Wife said to the salesman: if red is not available, then we got no deal. We opted for the sport navi plus, added front rubber mats and mud flaps.
We telled a little lie that we allready sold our old civic and needed a ride, so we got the same testdrive car for as loaner for a week
The day we got the new and sold the old was on the same day.
And then we handed the old car over to its new owner.
But the Type R looks was still in her mind. As a good husband, I looked for aftermarket options.
In the US forums I read that the ABS dynamic Replica Type R wing was popular and the size should be 1:1 with the OEM.
Sounds like a Plan
I contacted one Estonian who lives In the US and offers his services for all Estonias to get and ship goods from the US.
So I emailed the link and he emailed back the estimate.
After that he ordered the spoler to him and then in to a container.
One and half month waiting and it arrived
Then we waited for the snow to melt and sourced a bodyshop near me to do the painting and installing
One drawback, one 6mm nut insert came loose from the center piese. Had to buy the tool kit and go over to 8mm.
I Disassembled the hatch my self to save time and money at the bodyshop. I got templates for drilling the holes, but the bodyshop manager said that they did the measuring and it was no use from the tmplate(toilet paper, as he said)
After that they sprayed some chemicals to prevent rust.
One photographer laid an eye on the car and took photos.
Wife saw from the window(at work)that one man is taking pictures of her car. She ran out and asked who and why?
He told that he is a photographer and sopped a good looking car. Offered to send pictures afterwards.
Later in an email he wrote that after looking at pictures he relized that it was not a real type R, but it is still an eyecatch.
My son had a very rare Jap import EG6 civic which was all Feels Engineering equipped - my goodness the engine was only 1.6 but revved to 9k and was ludicrously fast and went round corners on rails. It was built for Mr Honda so had all the Feels kit on it.
This is what he then bought but sadly a woman T boned it and was written off - we were able to keep the car (1 of 20 left in world) and made tiwce the money insurance paid out by selling all of it over 3 months period. One guy paid over $300 to ship front spolier to USA!!!!
My boy's blue one did 0-60 in 5.6 secs - scared the s**t out of me first time I drove it. It was 1.6 with 200hp. The VTiS was nearly as quick. Think it was because car was still in second gear doing 60 and singing in VTEC!! Incredible engineering.
