I was looking at the HERE updates but just couldn't bring myself to buy 2 year old maps at £145. I called HERE Maps last year and spoke to them to ask if they were planning any further updates anytime soon but apparently not. I might call again and see if they have any plans for a 2019 edition with maybe 2018 map data?

Does anyone know if the headunit software updates make it a little more Android device compatible rather than the preference of Apple equipment??

My Samsung Galaxy S8 seems to work seamlessly in my 2011 Tekna. I can access address book and anything else and all comes up on screen fine and operation seems excellent. My wifes S7 also links seamlessly.

My s9 does all the above but the playing of music isn't quite seamless in that i have to start the phone playing from the phone and then select on rhe headunit.

..have finally got around to fitting the audio controls to my steering wheel and can confirm that that all the controls work perfectly on the Android unit I fitted... just need to 'teach' it with the 'learning' screen ..takes about 30 secs ..easy.

Nice one, I might get round to putting an android in mine one day.

You are lucky - the latest maps for my 2009 model are still listed as 2013 !

It does put you off buying a Nissan if they stop map updates only 4 years after you buy it.

Well I did get the maps and do the update which does include software update. When I first put maps disc in (there are 4) it said 120 mins!!!! I thought I can't leave it running for that time so called HERE and they said no worries just do it as your driving along as long as you don't need maps. You can even stop and switch engine off; it will simply resume the chap said. SO on trip to Harrogate (a good 4 hours from me) I did just that and sure enough all was fine.

OK the maps are just 2 years old but the system seems to work better and looks like more info now comes up on the screen - the only thing I've noticed are speed cameras are not necessarily reported in right context!!!! Example - driving round a car park in central Norwich a voice said Speed Camera - made me laugh as it's on the road some 50 metres away. Oddly I did not have the Sat Nav on so it must always be active.............. I've switched it off now though as mobile phone far more accurate for that.....

Are the maps really only two years old? When i looked on the Here website it said map data from Q4 2016. It was just too old to pay the £145 for.

Yes maps last quarter 2016 i.e. November time 2016 so 2 years and 4 months old now.

I've tried contacting Here online a few times on their live chat but it connects and says reviewing your details and then no response evennif you wait with it connected for an hour.
I just want to ask if they have any plans for a new version with maybe 2018 maps.
