HI
Just acquired a T31 and have water leaking via front and rear door pillars. The car has a nissan roof rack fitted with locks but sadly no key. I am guessing this may well be the cause, but anyone else had similar problems? Any advice much appreciated.

If you have a sunroof, then maybe a drain hose is blocked. Use a shop air gun to blow thru them carefully. Each at every corner.

Most probably this is the cause if a sunroof is present. I cleaned mine one year ago but after blowing them I let warm water and detergent flow through the hoses, and only water finally. But I have no idea how to acces the rear holes, I’d like to clean them as well.
Does anybody know?

From top, with long hose, or just lower the roof lining a bit.

Thank you for the replies. Sadly for me, the front two hoses have completely disintegrated and are all in tiny bits!! Hence the leaks. Have not had time to check the back ones yet BUT am getting water in the boot as well, so not looking to hopeful. Currently trying to source new hoses and fittings etc. Can only imagine someone in the cars past has used an industrial unblocker on the sunroof.

Hi

Have now managed to repair/replace the top parts of the sunroof drains at the front. All hoses where they bend are in tiny pieces!! So did a test and no water in the headlining or the seats anymore BUT now coming down the footwells!! I am struggling despite a workshop manual to see where the bottom part of the drain hoses connect to and how to access them. Also drivers side rear drain is damaged where it meets the sunroof. Any suggestions or advice of how to gain access to these areas? For instance do i have to remove all the front carpets including centre console? And for the rear, do I have to remove upper luggage area to access the drain?
Any help much appreciated
Many thanks.

From memory the front sunroof drain hoses on the T31 drain into the the front scuttle and from there into the wheel arches. The scuttle drain holes tend to block with leaves. If blocked leaks into cabin are likely.

Just an update......
Having now taken most of the interior panels out, it would seem that the car has had a mouse or mice in it.
Three of the four sunroof drains chewed through at top and bottom and rear wash wipe hose from front to back!
And just for good measure some rear wiring also chewed through.
Have replaced and repaired most of it now so no more water ingress. Furlough good for some things!!

Move the car around often or you'll find said mouse/mice will re-appear!!!! They did that on my wife's Golf around the battery - surprised I didn't find a mouse with wiry fur!
