It is so long ago that its not in my ebay history, I'm fairly sure I bought 4mm. (household ring mains is 2.5mm) because it is thin wall, the overall diameter is relatively small.

I also used this where that might be rubbing on the cable

does any of the earths from the grey cable have to go into the relay or do you just run an earth from the chassy to the relay

the earths from sockets go directly to the chassis,

the earth from the relay is just for the relay to operate,
