Bluetooth Phone Text Messages

Hi I have a 08 plate Aventura from new and a friend as a 58 plate. His car receives text messages through the bluetooth phone/audio which he can answer by typing in message(safely) or by voice, he discovered this by accident. Mine appears not to have this available and I can find no mention of it anywhere? Does anybody else have or know of this function? On searching it looks like the system is called MAp (Message Access Profile)
