Thought it was time to refresh my music selection on the USB key I have been using in the car.

Erased old music by running format on my MacBook. Copied new music selection on to USB key. Inserted USB into the car and am getting the message that this format USB device is not supported!

Any solutions please?

Graham.

Hi Graham,

You'd need to find out what format the headunit supports, probably FAT.

If you insert the usb into the MacBook and open Disk Utility and Partition it will display the current USB format, which must not be supported

Kind Regards

Eoin

Thanks Eoin,

Done that, the partition tab is greyed out.

Graham.

Hi Graham

You'd need to use a command line option or another utility if partition is greyed out. There may be an issue with the USB.

A MAC forum might a good place to search for an answer - personally I haven't used one in a number of years. Perhaps another Mac knowledgeable member may be able to assist.

Kind Regards,

Eoin

Thanks Eoin,

Think I have resolved it by the old computer trick equivalent of switching off and rebooting!

I deleted the USB once more and reformatted it again. Just tried it in the car, at first it was just spooling through the songs but is now playing them.

Thanks again for your prompt help.
