Have recently bought a 2008 2.0 DCI with satnav & reversing camera etc. Everything worked fine on test and affter collection but, a couple of days ago, the whole entertainment system shut itself down after about 30 mins of operation. Now it will start up (satnav/ audio/ camera) but, shuts itself down after a few mins. Any ideas? |

Does it shut down when you're doing every function (i.e. playing the radio, CD and using the sat nav)? Does your unit have a sat nav disc inserted? What about if you connect a phone (on bluetooth) and/or if you're on a call? My unit has only failed me once (so far  ) but I restarted the car and it's been fine since.Cheers Bloggsy |

Bloggsy, the first time had sat nav on, cd playing and phone connected via bluetooth. Subsequently it has happened after just a few minutes in various modes (but always with satnav disc in). |

I've just spent about an hour messing about with this. The head remains powered, as I can eject/insert discs. There is power to the screen (very feint glow) but no display. Tried it with satnav disc in & out, no change. Has to be ignition off for about 5 mins before any sign of life. 1st time satnav showed last failure location (about 30 miles away) with no sign of update. After removing & inserting satnav disc showed location as central London with no sign of update (car is in Belfast!). Each time entire unit closes down after max 5 mins but, do get screen flash occasionally when pressing buttons so, power obviously still there. Reverse camera does not work after head unit shuts down. If anyone has any idea of what to try next, I'd be most grateful. |

Have you checked your car's Earth cable? I would also check all the other power cables as you may have a loose connection somewhere - maybe get a voltmeter and check the current going into the stereo, as well as the battery voltage. Cheers Bloggsy |

Had it into local Nissan dealer for diagnostic. The actual satnav controller under the dash is defective. A new unit is £2500 from Nissan. Totally bonkers! The warranty company can either fix it or the supplying dealer can have the car back. Even the guys in the Nissan garage were gobsmacked at the cost and said they'd never seen this fault before. |
